Finally xbox 360 can be flashed (chipped)
second 1 done now and works perfect and pretty simple to do , linkin up to a pc via sata , switchin 360 into mode b and flashing the firmware ! also works on live for the time being ,
but very soon a chip will be out have 2 different firmwares on ur 360 original , when an original xbox game is inserted orig firmware , then the flashed firmware when a copy is added ,
and its not even illegal ! to flash ur own firmware

Some bloke was selling one on MLR.
I'm not tampering with the 360 yet or at all. Live's what it's all about and they'll soon do what they did with the only send test signals down the line, and ban you or even worse.
Whats to stop them sending a file to your system causing it to 'shut down' i'e' corrupting it?, They **** up most of the Live updates cause people problems, so i'm sure if they mean to do it they could do proper damage, and who you going to tell?, no one cause your inviolation of Copyrights.

To be honest, unlike the old PS1, PS2 and Xbox, I'm not gonna bother modding my 360 simply cos I enjoy the online play. I never minded modding the other consoles as I never did anything online. And the only reason i modded the PS1 and PS2 was to play Japanese imports.
But since anything is possible with "Live", slapping any type of modified system content that *could* be detectable which could render the account and possiby the unit uselss -- I'm not risking it.
Not until some USB flash key/dongle with some sort of runnable code can be used to do it. At the moment I just dont think it's worth it when M$ still effectively that their hands in your machine as soon as it's online.

It requires a leg to be cut which is **** to do and a bit of soldering. Also the chip is not in the 360 as you stated, it is fitted in the dvd drive.

Either way chip, firmware flash, whatever, MS own your console when its online Tinker at your own risk. I firmly believe that there is a *lot* they know about the machines that are connected to their service.
