progressive scan?
im looking at get a 360 & a dvd/hd recorder. whats going to happen on screen with this setup, am i going to need a progressive scan tv?
widescreen tv: not progressive scan
dvd/hd recorder: is
xbox 360: is

All should work ok - you just won't get the advanced features / resolutions working.
As far as I understand it, the 360 works fine on standard TVs, and so should the DVD player - but i could be wrong - worth checking on the avforums (google em)

Does work fine on a standard tv (the HDTV/TV switch on the cable is a give away) even MS are not stupid enough to release a HD only console 
As above tho you will be missing out on the full sexiness of 360 HDTV
