Default another partition question...

anyone know how to partition a drive where there is a 25mb partition (fingerprint pass software created it) with no drive letter.

partition magic goes spastic at it for not having an identifying drive letter.

help appreciated

Assuming you don't mind wiping all the data from the drive you could fdisk it

Have you tried assigning it a drive letter or formatting it and if so how?

i don't want to lose all the data on C:\ (60gig partition) and PM8 won't have a bar of it. i can't letter the drive, access the partition.

i'll google the fingerprint software manufacturer.

Chances are that the partition is a non-DOS or NTFS partition. If you can boot up a floppy disk with fdisk on, at least you can go in and view it. If memory serves you can remove this sort of partition and then re-add with a valid drive letter if needed. But I would back-up your drive first with something on the lines of norton ghost.
