The error is listed as follows.....
660 The device .INF file contains no responses for the command.
Although this seems to refer more to dial-up.
How do you have IE setup? Do you have it set to dial-up, or not? It should be set not to dial IIRC.
Other than that, the only thing I can think of is USB problems. I assume the modem is USB?
Can you try it in another port?

Will try swapping usp ports to see if it makes any differance..
would it help if i dropped it into a usb2.0 port
dont know how its set up, as i just ran the disk, and it did the biz for me..
its not on auto connect, as i use icon to connect..
i did have some problems getting to talk using other accounts, as it would not connect saying the connection was un use (privelaiges et al)
the only way i can get it to connect when another user uses the amchine is via a pseudo dial up , (it presents a dial up type box, but connects via the adsl modem)

Who are you with?
Normally it can be setup without the $hitty software they supply. It can cause more problems in my experience.
Edit - would it happen to be a Speedtouch modem? And are you using XP?

Ive had the same problem..keeps auto disconnecting and very slow..after phoning up the isp ,they said to remove the front plate of the NTE5 master (to remove all extensions)and plug the filter into the main plug behind..as i speak its been fine and alot quicker...it must be a extension socket dragging the line down..(but voice calls were'nt a problem on the extensions)...strange

Okay, here's the deal.....
No matter what the configuration is in your house, you must, and I stress MUST have a microfilter at the earliest junction possible. And then each branch after that.
I have seen a friend's connection do similar to yours, that's why I asked about the wiring. His problem turned out to be the upstairs extension was hard-wired at the back of the main box. We removed it and the connection was perfect.
For example, in your case, I would advise as follows....
Assuming I am reading right and you have a main feed into the house, then all branches are off it?...
Main Inlet>Microfilter>FrontRoom Extension
Main Inlet>Microfilter>Upstairs Jack Bed One
These are the 2 locations you need to cover, the last one(bed 2) will be covered by bed 1, as it branches off it.
Here is a pic, to illustrate it better.....

all my feeds ultimatly are hard wired off the main box,
not sure if i understand how you put the filter before the socket, and how do you connect that filter into the cable?
(i think i might be missing somthing )

Basically, you must have all 'live' lines in your home filtered, regardless if a phone is plugged into the line or not, it is still live.
If all yours are hard wired, then the only way around it I can see is to place a microfilter at each socket.
