Angry Linksys ADSL Gateway

Trying to set up a wirless network at home, with the linksys Wireless G ADSL Home Gateway, Got as far as entering the password for the internet and this is where we came unstuck - Im with Bt Broadband and dont ever recall entering our own password and the software will not let you carry on without it as it obviously cannot connect to the internet. Where can i find out what the password is?
Thanks in advance

The password was sent to you with the original conformation e-mails from BT.
If you still have your original thompson speedtouch modem you might be able to interigate that for the password too.

we never had a password come through im pretty sure, ive had some trouble with the pc plenty of times, meaning the reinstallation of the BT broadband and it never asks me for a password. Although when no internet connection is present and IE6 is opened the dialing box appears with the pasword box filled in with 16 characters?
any help really appreciated
thanks Subsy

if you are using bt broadband on a bt line.... you don't need a password...

However, with the router's that won't let you 'not' put a password in..... use 'bt' without quotes as your password...

had the same problem while trying a linksys router a while ago....

worked for me....

let us know

ok then the linsys actually gave in before i did and broke, now have replaced it with a netgear. But i cannot connect to the ip address of http://192.168.0.1/ which it has told me to do? is this because there is no internet connection present? i cannot connect the router to the internet because the broadband only recognises the Voyager 105 modem? HELP!!!!!!!!!

I`m trying the same thing with linsky and I also can`t get online on the PC but can easily get online with the PSP. I got the linsky conecting to the PC through the earthnet cable rather than wireless but what I really want to do is get a second PC set up upstairs for my son. My isp is with Demon broadband.
