Anyone know how to jazz up Word templates ?
Im trying to create a template.
I have been asked to create a template at work with all sorts of crazy things included, some (most) of which I dont think are possible.
Does anyone know of a good NON microsoft site which provides some good tips etc.
thanks in advance, and apologies for such a mundane question on a monday morning

things like having a header & footer appear on the first page, but not on subsequent pages. also i have seperated out the various sections of the letter eg "main body" with a little text tag in there literally saying "type main body of text here". They want to be able to click in the "main body" box and for the prompt text to dissapear.
There are other things too, but this is the general jist of it...any ideas ?
cheers

Go to help in word and search for forms. You can add text boxes, tick boxes, drop down menus and the like. Lock it once you've made it and anyone using it can only fill in the blanks. The data that's entered can be exported on it's own for use in other applications such as excel. You can get very fancy, but I stick to the basics for requirements documents and the like.
