You can use maczip to create a multi file zip to create say 5 x 5mb files, which can be extracted as one at the other end.

ctrl+click on the file and choose 'create an archive' and see how big it is.

Take the .zip file and go into mail and click the attach button, then locate the .zip file and click 'choose' this will add it as an attachement to the message, which you can then send.

One other option would be to try one of the Stuffit products. I think there is a free download of 'DropStuff'. So you'd drag and drop the original on the DropStuff icon and it'll compress it. It might make it smaller than 10MB then again, maybe not.

One other thing I can think of would be to segment the file (Stuffit deluxe can do this) into several small chunks, then send each in a separate email, then once the chap has got them all, expand the first bit, it'll ask for the others and then you'll eventually get the file reconstructed. It is a tad time consuming though.

Final thought, maybe zip the file, put it on a website or ftp site and then get him to download it.
