feckin xp talk about stupid!!
Help,,,,
ive just plugged a new hd into my machine... to replace the one that went yesterday... alls ok, it boots and runs..
wheni go to access the drive its not shown in the available drives area..
its shown in device manager and shown as unititialised..
now it gets a bit tricky , both drives are maxtor 80gb one at drive 0 the boot drive 1 at drive 1 the new one.. both are reported to be working ok,,,
how the **** do i initialise / format thig beast, as xp has no dos option..
ahhhhhhhgggggggg
its really pissing me off now

Control panel -> Administrative tools -> computer management -> disk management

Oh I would also format it as NTFS. Unless you want to access it with a bootable DOS disk, then go with FAT32.
