Is there a way of converting a protected MWA file to MP3 or 4?
A band I like have just released a free download track, but they have made it a wma licenced file only. Is there anyway of converting it?

Iain, not wishing to be funny, but I thought I made it clear with the first 11 words in my first post, the band released this as a free track, downloadable of their website. Sadly in Polydors wisdom they have made it a protected WMA file. Which is no got to me as I use an Ipod, and a stripped out version of XP, I don't have WMP on this machine nore do I intend to, especilly for 1 file.
Whilst I own a PC, I use MAC software for music stuff.

AFAIK, you can't bypass the protection legally, otherwise this would open the door to much wrongdoings (that's the whole point of the protection). It's a free download, but they probably want to limit it to one copy per user or something...

Unfortuntaly they are also limiting what platforms it can run on too.
If their aim was to get this track to help with breaking the US market, they have stuffed up royally.
