File will not delete??
Downloaded LimeWire to get back-ups for my record collection and, as you do, you have a look around .................... anyway, long story short, I cannot delete a file I have downloaded (didn't open it or nowt ... just will not delete??)
Anyone help, I think it could be a virus??

Only way I could do it has been delete the folder it was in ..... good job I set up a special folder for these downloads or I wouldn't have been able to get rid without losing years of music files!!
Anyone know how to delete a file that simple will not respond to the normal delete commands?

Pete,
I'm surprised you didn't notice the legislation that was passed a few months back. In summary, the government decided that ALL PCs must be able to provide them with statistics based on the user's activity, web sites visited and documents downloaded. This enables them to target potential troublemakers and terrorists, in fact the legislation was brought in as part of the wider anti-terror laws that have been proposed. This tamper-proof file allows the communication back to Millbank where your computer-use habbits are collected, collated and monitored. IIRC attempting to tamper, alter or delete the file carries a custodial sentence.
As a fine upstanding (or slightly bent-over in your advancing years) citizen you have nothing to worry about
