Changing broadband suppliers for a Mac...
I'm moving house soon and Telewest/Blueyonder doesn't go into the area in which I'm moving, so I'm having to go back to BT. Question is, do I use BT broadband, or are there any better ones out there which are compatible with the BT line - I just want to be online as soon as possible without too much hassle lol if there is such a thing.....

As an ISP, I'd recommend plusnet. I use Macs on them although do it through a netgear router.
Prices start from £14.99 a month - ALL packages are upto 2mb in speed - as long as yor line can take it.
Full details here (or PM me): http://www.plus.net/
I've NEVER had any problems at all with reliability or speed.
Of course, you should also check out www.adslguide.org for more information on all ISP's.
But if you do use Plusnet, popping jandkatie in the referal box would be most appreciated

I've just moved house too, and it's taken 26 days to get my broadband reconnected. Most of this time was taken by BT processing 'cease' orders on my ADSL at my old house and on the previous owners ADSL at my new house. So if the house you're moving to has broadband already make sure you stipulate that the previous owners cancel their service with their ISP promptly. Until the cease goes through, BT will simply reject any provision request made by your ISP.
As already mentioned http://www.adslguide.org is a good resource for comparing ISP's. I'm with Nildram who have given me years of good service and seem to come out well in comparisons.
Most ISPs are dependent upon BT's ADSL hardware in the exchanges, but some have taken advantage of LLU (local loop unbundling) to install their own hardware and provide alternative services. http://www.samknows.com/broadband/ is a good resource which will show detailed information about the broadband services and providers available from your exchange.
Some companies are starting to roll out ADSL2+ which runs at up to 24MB/s which is worth checking out if you're moving to a large city. http://www.bethere.co.uk is one, and there are a couple of others you'll find if you search the news on adsluide.org.
