Suddenly getting pop-ups again
Just got back off my hols, and the dreaded pop-ups are back.
I've got Adaware and Spybot, but although they both find stuff and delete it, the pop-ups are reappearing almost within minutes of running a scan and delting the stuff supposedly causing them.
I had no probs before I went away leaving my 19 year old in charge., although I had had problems about a year ago.
What does anyone reckon he's done, and how can I put it right?
TIA, Alcazar

firstly has he installed any extra packages while youve been gone, quick look in program files, anything there you dont realise. Ask him what hes been doing on the comp while youve been gone
second can you run ad-aware in safe mode and scan again.
go into start and run and type msconfig and look at the far right tab called startup
check whats coming up on startup, may be these ad-aware thingys are coming back on, on startup, if you untick them, restart the computer and they come back on, look to see what folder or reg key is making it do this, you will then need to go in and delete the keys or folders. The folder may only delete in safe mode
have you also checked running processes? virus scan etc?
do you have a firewall be it hardware (router) or software?
