Default Which cable/dsl router?

Looking to upgrade mine and all along had netgear in my mind.

However, after reading numerous reports of disconnection and other wireless problems with Netgear, it has put me off these.

Can anyone recommend any other brands/models?

I have seen good reviews on the new belkin Pre N mimo router and it is pretty cheap.

Any thougts or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Bob

its a topic thats been covered many times

if you're talking wireless, Draytek are the Rolls Royce, but you'll pay extra for the privelege.

Signal strength is superb compared to the weaker linksys and dlink models. Both these companies now produce 2nd generation products which address the faults of the first.

Netgear kit doesnt have the fastest wireless throughput, but the range/signal is very good, especially through walls.

Its not cheap is it

I have had a couple of Netgear gateways. The earlier ones, I think the DG814 were horrid (imo). I complained so much that they gave me a DG834, which is much much better.

It crashes roughly once per 2 months, or around the 10+Gb internet throughput mark. Good for the money.

Not sure about the pings they give you. I'm struggling to find a Counterstrike Server with a ping of less than 200. I am on a 2Mb ADSL connection and think that is a little high (from E7even).
