Default Xbox needing modchip ;)

I've finally got an xbox

Which mod chip should I be looking for and any recommendations for suppliers?

Not scared to take it apart and solder them in as Ive done a few playstations before

The non solder version is a doddle to do but if you are happy to solder then this is meant to be relatively easy to do. you may need to establish which version Xbox you have.

get Slayer 2.6 or get on xbins and download what you need. It's a case of FTP'ing the files to your xbox.

Its to run as a media centre extender, however now realised that XBMC wont do what I want.. so now need to find a copy of MS media Centre extender.

Hi Steve

The gist is that you put a hacked gamesave onto a memory stick, then load it into a particular game with a bug in it. The bug causes some code hidden within the save to execute, and you get the option to install a hacked dashboard like EvoX at this stage.
