Default Desktop buying advice

I need to buy a new PC for my outlaws.

Doesn't need to be massive spec.

They only want to spend around £400, I can get a 15" TFT for about £110, anywhere that I can get a desktop out of the box for the balance.

And before anyone suggests it, I haven't got the time to buid one at the moment.

I am ok for software so o/s is all that it needs.

cheers
