Angry Bloody Tiscali!

Ok, this may be just me but...

They upgraded my account free of charge from 512k to 1mb a couple of months back. Still at 24.99

My dad saw in paper last night they were now offering 2mb for 17.99 so i did an online speed test and checked my bill and i was still paying 24.99 for 1mb.

I e-mailed them yesterday and theyve replied saying that instead of telling customers they advertise on their site the packages that you can upgrade to.

Ive just upgraded now to 2mb for less money and apparently it will take effect within 48hrs, but they were quite happy to keep taking 24.99 off me for the 1mb package!

I dont think that issue is specific to tiscali or even to a broadband service, the whole customer service industry is geared to offering better deals to attract new customers whilst completely ignoring the existing ones. Credit card companies being a prime example.

Enoughs enough!

Ive just asked them for a MAC number and theyve refused as against their policy!

they will ask you n00b questions as well

i had the same foriegn numpties when i had my problems
hung up on them when they were telling me to disable things my laptop needed to run properlly.

im lucky in that its only my work address which is done by tiscali, the home network is via bt (dad pays for the home setup)

so when i stop useing tiscali (it is going to happen, they are gash ) i still have net access at home, until i can get a new provider sorted out (tiscali wont give out the number as you have allready found out)

"are you sure you want to cancel"
"how exactly is your modem connected up"
"have you tried swapping the microfilters"
"are you sure you want to cancel"
"is your pc plugged in?"
"would you consider not canceling your agreement"
"do you have fresh batterys in your cordless keyboard"

I kicked off in an e mail yesterday and theyve replied again saying i wont be getting the number and if i want to cancel ill have to phone up. I wonder if theyll tell me to unplug the phone again! They told my brother to recently too!

I suppose it could be the MAF sensor though
