Printer drama...Help please!
OK,
I make no claim of being a genius but I`m at my wits end with my printer!
It`s an Epson Stylus Photo and it`s been running faultlessly for ages until.......I tried to print out a photo this morning. Now the quality of the photo is good but it`s too dark and I can`t get it to print out correctly. I`ve even tried to print out photos which I`d previously printed and they`re too dark as well now. It appears to be a problem with blues and greens but I just can`t brighten them up.
I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it but it`s made no difference at all.
Any ideas?

Hello Dave,
Have run the cleaning process and then a test page which turns out perfectly. However the photos still turn out dark.
It`s a Stylus Photo R300 and it has six ink cartridges if that`s any help.

Hi simon, what ICC profiles are you using? How did you calibrate your monitor? I've been faffing about with my Epson R800 for ages and yes, it seems to print out darker than on screen even after calibrating my monitor with the Adobe utility. Looks like a driver issue but a bit wierd your photos printed out fine earlier. Pity Epson in their wisdom dont seem to include ICC profiles on the UK CD.
You could also look here, loads of info for your printer -

Think I'll start another thread for the R800.

Cheers Jye, I`ll look into it.
The annoying thing is we returned from a skiing holiday two weeks ago and printed out some fantastic photos and then today they`re all too dark, I`ve not messed with anything as far as I`m aware.

You could also try Qimage, it's a very well respected piece of print software. I used it for a while as a demo, really should have bought it.
