Question Xbox dirty disk error

My PGR2 disk keeps failing and reporting a dirty/damaged disk error

However, it's absolutely mint on the data side of the disk. Is this a sign that my xbox's DVD drive is getting xbolloxed?

What's the best way to rip a disk onto the hard disk? Can I do it from the xbox, or am I better doing on the PC and FTP'ing it over?

Cheers,

John.

If the disc is an original, rip it using the Xbox drive straight to HDD. If its a backup, rip it to your PC HDD and copy it over. If you're using Avalaunch, use Qwix and you'll get blazing fast speeds

Don't know what dash you're using . . . EvolutionX - use boXplorer, Avalaunch - use the built-in File Manager to copy the files.

Doh! Thanks... figured out how to do it with avalaunch's file manager now. I knew I was missing something obvious before, but just couldn't quite get it.

Rats.. just noticed that there's more PGR2 than there is disk to hold it.

Next job is a BIG disk for it.

Cheers,

John.

I get this all the time..

Not that I would ever suggest this kind of acitivity, but I heard that some folk hire games from Blockbuster and swap the disk - arf.

I think backing up on your PC sounds like a better alternative thought

Bizarrely I get this error off my HD installation. I've had to go back to using the real disc at the mo!

Not that I would or would not follow suggestsions or non-suggestions, made or not made, on the internet, but I may or may not bear your suggestion (or non-suggestion) in mind.

Cheers, myknickers.
