You could download iTunes 4.7 and use it's "find duplicates" option if it's just dupes of music files you are looking for.
Guessing you're not on a mac, if you were then I'd suggest the "corral songs" script. which is a great little iTunes script for finding duplicates, much better than the very very basic offering from Apple.
Only other thought is to have a peek here A fair few apps there that might be exactly what you are looking for.

Not keen on iTunes, and it isn't just mp3s i need to sort.
