There's a plethora of guides/recommendations at www.videohelp.com

I'd recommend these 3 appz:

DVDDecrypter (free at www.dvddecrypter.com )
DVD2One
Stomp Record Now MAX v4.5

dvdshrink and nero.
Lots of people have success using different combinations.
Also the disc you use is just as important IMO.

another vote for dvd shrink and or nero..

STAY AWAY FROM Alcohol 120% im not doubting some people have sucess with it, but i have had heard nothing but bad things about it completely messing up systems after install.. Not virus or anything! Just changing the wrong settings causing crashes

I use DVD Shrink 3.2 & Nero 6 with updates, works well and you only have to do about 2 clicks of the mouse too, (usually takes about 1.5 hours to do a disk. Is that a good time or not ??? )

Wheres the best place to get DVD's or CD-R's online then ?

Well, having had cracking service from www.diskdepot.co.uk in the last few days I recommend you have a look there - if they're not the absolute cheapest, the service more than makes up for it. Run by a couple of SN posters too

They recommended the Datawrite 8x 4.7GB DVD-R Printable (ie white top surface) at IIRC about £5.25 for 25. You can get identical non-printable ones (ie Datawrite logo'd top surface) for a £1 more per tub.

On my experience of burning one of them (my first ever DVD burn) it was fine

Someone told me that if you mention SN in the comments box of the on-line order, you may get an extra, small, gift
