Windows 2003 server terminal services
I'm hoping someone on here will help me figure this, cuz it's driving me potty.
I keep getting this message when trying to logon using my XP PC 'You do not have access to logon to this session', using remote desktop.
I have set the permissions in Terminal Services Configuration on the 2003 Server, even added the PC name, added all the admin groups, remote, etc. I've tried logging on to XP in Domain and local, but it will not give me access.
Help...

Are you wanting a true Terminal Services session or just access to the console?
On our 2003 servers, I just right-click My Computer and select the Remote tab. Enable Remote Desktop and add whichever admin users you want to access the server.
I use MMC with the desktops snap-in to connect to the desktop console rather than starting a new Terminal Services session.

Ozzy, all I really want to do is logon to the 2003 server and administer the Admin account, I suppose like a PCanywhere connection.

That's all I do.
The stand-alone RDP client only connects to a new session, not the console. Enable Remote Desktop on the server and then use the MMC snap-in.
I think you just need to download the 2003 admin pack to get the snap-in installed on your XP desktop.

Command line for a shortcut is:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstsc.exe -v:servername /w:1024 /h:768 -console
servername can be a FQDN or IP. /w and /h set the resolution, so you can change them too.
