Keyboard layout on iMac
Is there a way of changing keyboard layout on the iMac ? I couldn't get on with the Apple keyboard, so bought a Logitech Bluetooth Cordless Elite. It pairs and works OK, but the keyboard layout is different from the Apple one (American v UK maybe?) and I cannot find certain keys (the hash for example)

Already set to British Keyboard, but not working. For example the Key 2 to the right of L has the @ symbol as the shifted character, but shift and this key produces " instead, (@ is shift 2)

Sounds like you still have a standard Apple keyboard mapping. # is <Alt-3> and 2 left of <L> is <"> and <'> on a standard Mac keyboard.
Download Logitech Control Centre and see what options that gives you http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...rolcenter.html

Thanks, looks like that's what I need. Will download tonight.
Seeing as everything I've connected to the iMac to date has just worked straight out of the box , I hadn't thought about looking for drivers etc.,

Argh,
. I found out after installing it that LCC only works with USB devices (my mouse/keyboard are bluetooth) so when I launch it from System Preferences it says No Logitech Devices found

Booger, ok try following the instructions at http://www.gyford.com/misc/windows_keyboard_mac.php3
There appears to be a keyboard layout you can choose in System Preferences -> International called "British - Windows" but as I'm not sat at my desk at the moment I can't confirm.
EDIT You actually need to download and install the British - Windows keyboard layout from http://www.gyford.com/misc/British-Windows.rsrc.sit but it all looks fairly straightforward.

Cheers mate, that solved it
Shame Logitech don't provide the LCC for Bluetooth devices 'cos then I could make use of all the multimedia keys (ch'yeah right, just like I don't use the ones on my PC keyboard )
I suppose the LCC *might* work with BT if I was using the Logitech BT base, as that is a USB device.
Anyway, happy now the keys are in the places I expect them to be
Thanks again

No problem, I've never used a Windows keyboard on a Mac so it took me a little while to figure it out! Your Windows key should have mapped to the Apple key too.
The mouse is a little more plug-and-play than the keyboard. Your mouse buttons should all be mapped to default actions (eg. Exposé in Finder and Back in Safari etc), although you won't be able to program them to do specific tasks. With multibutton USB mice, you could use an app called USB Overdrive to map all the buttons to whatever task you wanted but there's nothing like that for Bluetooth mice at the moment.
