Computer desks - where did you get yours from...
looking for a new desk that has to be able to support a 21" crt and if possible a 15" flat screen but be as compact/small as possible. I have a fantastic huge very solid corner desk currently that had 3 pc's monitors on but since moving and with baby's imminent arrival my desk has got to go and be replaced with something sensible and less pc's
Have seen a few things about but wanted to check here first as well - oh and has to be as cheap as possible!
TIA
Oh and I have said desk above available to a new home for a sensible offer if anyone wants a large solid corner desk

Built mine as well, 1" thick MDF for £20 and some legs from Ikea for about £15. Still going strong after 4 years and has a 19" monitor on it, plus the usual bits.
Otherwise try an office clearance auction.

Office World or Staples are good bets for more quality high street stuff.
Bought my desk (I work from home) from Office World six years ago and still going strong. Can't remember the make but was Danish and is thick MDF but wth real wood veneers.
Cheers

I've got a couple of Ikea tables (not desks), you just buy the top you like, the legs you like and off you go.... as sturdy and as large/small as the parts you choose.
(Being replaced by office world range next week tho...)

I got a really cool one from B&Q which goes in the corner, was about £30, but you pays ya money. It looks good, and servers a purpose, but it didnt really fit together properly, I had to force the joints to get it to screw in cause the panels weren't aligned properly, but I don't really care for thirty notes it works, just wouldn't want to try and move it when I leave this place

bob, i got mine from office world, but its really a huge desk, with pedestal and accessories...
argos stuff is ok, just add a few extra corner blocks and pva glue where necessary.
its all about how YOU assemble the things... (MFI - Made for Idiots) LOL.
call me if you need me to assemble it, i know you have the patience of an impatient person, running out of patience.
good luck

Cheers guys Puff that desk you have there is what i'm looking for but about half the length. My current desk is bigger than that one with a corner/L shape piece hence just no good for my new place.
Dazza cheers but i'm getting proficient with the flat pack stuff now having just moved, bought Liam a fantastic semi bunk with drawers and cupboards underneath it which took me and my father about 2 hours to build between us due to the weight and size of it its bloody good though and nearly went and got myself one
An Argos desk will be a doddle after the above (as long as all the bits are actually in the pack) Looking at this one but will put the drawers in another room, might still be too long though
