Smile cheap good spec pc

as above where can i get a good spec pc with 100+gig hard drive, dvd rewiter etc. saw what i thought was a good one at tiny for £699 in the paper today. not looking to spend more than that. not bothered about monitor or software as i can use the stuff i've already got

Dell are doing P4's including monitor and printer for £399.. buy in Aug/Sept as they go mad at the end of each quarter

hi adam had a look on the del site, but i seems to get quite dear when i start adding bits to it
this is the one i was looking at click is it any good for the cash? had a look in pc world but there does'nt seem to be anything that fell into my price range with similar spec

What do you plan on using it for? If it's just surfing/WP then that's massively over-specced. If it's for gaming that gfx card is rubbish, and you'll have to budget to replace it.

And if you buy from Tiny you need help. Copy the specs and take them along to an independant comp store and ask them how much for the same kit.

i will be using it for a bit of everything surfing,(broadband) downloading and burning occational office stuff possably the odd game. the tiny one just seemed to have everthing on it.

It will do all of those except the gaming - the 9200 will suffer if you try to play something like Doom3 on it. And you're still a mug to buy from Tiny, who are a bunch of cowboys.

not very technical when it comes to specs, what is a better grafixs card to look for if the one you mentioned above is no good? am i better waiting til aldi comes along with one of there special deals, seem to remember that they are well regarded round here.

Pretty much anything! Top of the range is the nVidia 6800 Ultra which would set you back £350+. Best bang-for-the-buck is probably the ATi 9800pro which should be about £150. For less still, try the ATi 9600 range (avoid anything called an "SE" BTW). I wouldn't go slower than that or the nVidia 5700 series. If it costs less than £80 then you'll struggle to play recent games on it.
