by how much can I safely overclock my ATI 9700?
As topic sez - my current
core clock is 281.25 MHz
Memory Clock is 279MHz
I have upped these slightly - obviously not knowing the limits of the card (non-PRO)
Any suggestions? Using Rage3D Tweak v 3.9b
Thanks,
Dan

1. up it a bit
2. run 3dmark
3. do you experience corruptions or instaility or overheating? if no go to 1, if yes go to 4
4. back it down to last known good.

If the core is overclocked too far you willl start to see black sparkles, followed by texture tearing and big long black triangles. If the memory is overclocked too far you will see white sparkles everywhere. 3DMark2003 is a good start, but you really need to play games: Morrowind for instance will make a card suffer at settings 3DMark has no trouble with. Now go out and play. I'd advise core first, then RAM, rather than both at once.
