ATi9800pro advice.. who said..
.. to check out http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/??
I've got loads of advice, and now in addition to the Compaq I bought 3 months ago, I have the following arriving to *complement* my ATi9800pro!
Coolmaster Praetorian (Silver)
Coolmaster Praetorian Side Panel (Blue)
AMD 3500+
ASUS A8V DELUXE
OCZ 1GB PC3700 DC PE EB-DDR
Samsung DVDR drive (black)
OCuk 3.5" drive (black)
Samsung Spinpoint SATA 80Gb
Logitech Cordless Desktop MX kit
Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU
Windows XP home OEM
So my Compaq goes back to standard with its FX5500 and standard PSU.
And I'm going to set the above up hopefully this weekend (assuming its here by then)..
Its a damn sight cheaper mod'ing PCs than cars - so the wife is happy(ish)!
Far Cry is blinkin amazing on full effects btw... I need to practice on Call Of Duty and Counter Strike before tackling the online side of things.
Thanks for the advice
Alex

_Meridian_ - well thanks for advice, good bunch on the forums, loads of information to be found, and all being equal, I should have a pretty good set-up soon.
Things I will be upgrading at a later date are:
- SATA drive, to 10Krpm
- NEC +/- DVDRW (in addition to the samsung)
- Case and CPU cooling
- Funky cables
