Project Gotham 2 download content now out...
Source: www.gamespot.com
Microsoft Game Studios has released a new bonus level for Project Gotham Racing 2 on Xbox Live. The PGR2 Paris Booster Pack will let players race a variety of new cars through the French capital, including the Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z51, the Ferrari 250TR, and the Porsche 356 A Carrera. Monuments in the level include the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées. However, continuing a recent trend, Microsoft is charging $4.99 for the new content. More information is available at the official Project Gotham 2 Racing Web site
UPDATE:
the pack contains....
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 (DLC Verison) - Exactly the same as the retail version, only thing is you won't need all Platinums to get it. However, this model only comes in racing green so we can still tell who's beaten the game and who's downloaded their way to TVR heaven.
Ferrari 288 GTO - A fast, fast *fast* Ferrari. Absolute classic and still outperforms most sports cars these days.
BMW 645Ci - BMW's latest 6 series offering. It's big, but it's quick and has a very distinctive design.
Ferrari 365 GTS4 (Daytona) - Miami Vice. A 70's classic Ferrari. A definate for anyone who claims to know their Ferrari's.
Porsche 356A Carrera Speedster - The humble beginnings of the Boxster way back in the 50's.
Ferrari 250TR - Classic front engine Ferrari racer for the road. Another 50's offering, and amazingly quick considering it's age.
Chevrolet Corvette C6 - Brand new, straight from Chevrolet factories. Only announced 2 months ago, now available for you to drive, even before your car dealer gets to see one
BMW M3 CSL -The light-weight, lightning quick special M3. A track beast with a sensational engine and impeccable dynamics. This is one fun car.
New City
Yup, you guessed it. Paris .
From the Eiffel tower, to the Arc de Triomphe, you can now race through the streets of one of Europes oldest and incredibly beautiful cities. It's fast, it's pretty, but more importantly it's yours to hit with the fastest cars ever to hit the streets.
PLUS
Go online and it should download a patch.
Patch Details:
Regarding the "color glitch":
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And yes, I'm sorry to say it but the color glitch bug has had to be fixed. There is no way we could do an update and allow that to be ignored, the car manufacturers gave us specific colors for a reason and we have to stick to those colors as closely as possible. Sorry guys, I know you didn't want that to happen, but it's the rules I'm afraid.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regarding the radio issue:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our audio coders have added some new stuff to try and catch these glitches and sort them out. We've still had trouble reproducing this due to the nature of the bug, however they've still made an attempt based on what they think might be happening in order to solve the problem some users are experiencing. In other words, it should be history.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regarding the head start issue:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3-2-1 has been looked at and we've tried to improve it (diminish the possibility of it happening)

The subscription pays for the service, why shouldn't they charge extra for additional content? you don't have to buy it and everyone knew they were going to start charging for add-on stuff eventually?

What a complete con! You pay the subscription fee, you've bought the game and now they are trying to graft more dosh off us for content updates which in my eyes should be free!
TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I just connected online today for a quick session and it told me I couldn't compete with other gamers because the content was different and that I should download it!!!!
Another point that people should consider. What if your xbox hard disc breaks down. I presume you will have to pay the 2.99 to download the updates again
Ohhh wouldn't it be good if XBOX magazine bundled the updates for free on their disc.... that would be a better idea!?!?
Over and out.
