i have just bought a dvd remote for my silver ps2 but when i have red the instuction it says some may need a software cd but there was not one in the box does anyone have one or know where i can get one

If you have bought one of the newer Sony PS2 remotes (the one with the standby button) then the Silver PS2 has the drivers built in for it. The older PS2 remotes (without standby button) did not fully work with the older (<=v3) PS2s. The old remotes came with a driver disk that came with the remotes to upgrade the DVD driver software so that the extra buttons on the remote are recognised.

The new remotes are not supplied with a driver disc so are not fully compatible with the older PS2s I would love a standby button, saves me having to move anymore, lazy bugger that I am.
