Angry Bloody viruses

My PC has picked up another virus My virus scanner has found it but it's screwed up the machine again

The virus it found was trojan horse Revop.C but doing a search on google & Sophos I can't find anything for it that'll help me fix it

Does anyone know anything about this virus and how I can fix the machine please?

The symptoms are that auto disconnect no longer works and when you want to connect via dial up you can't just open up the explorer you have to open outlook to get a dial up connection

I had this before and had to re-build the machine and don't fancy having to do it again.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Sounds like this is yet more malware, a form of adware. Ad-aware and or Spybot Search & Destroy should take care of it.

Dowload either.......

The cleaner from http://www.moosoft.com/

Or

Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

These should find and give you the option to remove, both free.

Then make sure u are running decent anti-virus app like NAV and a firewall like Kerio which also stops popups and other nasties.

I have always run this combination and have never been cought out yet.

If your running windows XP turn of the system restore option while you run these apps otherwise you will just keep re-infecting yourself

We were changing DSL providers today and in the literal 2seconds we were naked on the Net, the W32 Welcher B worm got in and jumped across each computer

I have since spent the best part of the day getting rid of the <insert obscenities here>

For future reference, is there a switch (like in XP), you can use in Win2K to stop the PC's restarting when a worm/virus starts a 60second shutdown?

UPDATE

I have so far only had chance to run the moosoft (the cleaner) and it's found 6 trojans I am not sure if these have been transferred via the net or my backup from when the machine was infected before. I will download the other program when this has finished.

Thanks

I had AVG but I did remove it for a bit because I couldn't get USB to work (98se) and that was thought to be the cause but wasn't Not sure if it missed it or came in while I wasnt't protected. I have a feeling that it's only just happened though
