nearly all the latest firewalls will do this. Norton, Mcafee, etc. But be careful, some insurance sites like tesco etc can stop working, some download sites stop working as well.

Lightbulb

I use the Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/) and it has blocker functionality amongst other tools.

and if you absolutely must - there's always XP SP2 beta...but don't forget the patches....

I crack myself up sometimes.... :-)

Another vote for google toolbar. I have tried a few others but this seems the most effective & it is free.

or use mozilla firefox as your browser, I havent completely ditched IE yet as I still find the odd site I have probs with but other than that its way better than IE.
