IPAQ GPS
Hi
On Monday i am getting an Ipaq 2210 and want to use GPS. What is the best GPS receiver? All of the UK websites are crap IMHO, I might end up buying one from the US from what i know so far (http://www.buygpsnow.com)
p.s I know this has been asked before but there is no search on the forum any more which is nice

I've got a garmin handheld gps (etrex vista), and it's superb. I've not tried it with my ipaq, cause the model i have doesn't have a serial port
As for website, have you tried GPS Wharehouse? www.gpsw.co.uk
Also, www.totalpda.co.uk and www.pdamods.com
John.

John, im 99% sure i saw yesterday you can buy a cable that gives you a serial port. I have looked at that many sites i have no idea where it was from. If i find it, i will post the link.

A few good sites for GPS are www.pocketgps.co.uk or www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk .
I have a HP2210 and bought a Haicom Multi mode receiver. Seems to be a good universal answer as you can use in the compact flash slot or you can buy a bluetooth slipper and use it as a bluetooth receiver. You can also buy a USB lead and plug it into a laptop. Great unit. Got mine off E-Bay for £90.

I bought a rikaline 6031 bluetooth receiver from ebay. it worked perfectly for the first couple of weeks but it died thismorning (wont charge battery) but im sure thats a one off
It cost £130, the box it comes in makes it look like it should be £230 pure quality
I usualy get 7 - 9 sat's when in the car with tomtom.
