Question HDD Format Q?

I have a HHD that has had XP & NT installed on it in the past.

Will FDISK clean fully or will there be "bits" left over.

If there are "bits" left over what prog should I use to totally clean the HHD?

TIA

If you want a definate removal - do a low level format instead. If you no the manufacturers name - go to their website download disk tools and create a bootable floppy. This also has various disk test tools which are worth holding onto. Please note this will return it to its original state when first purchased.

Then install - booting from CD and create a brand new NTFS partition and do a full format as part of the XP install

I'd fdisk it first to remove current partitions.

Restart then create a new partition (fdisk)

Restart and then format c:

All done and clean
