Exclamation Veritas Backup Exec

Hi All,

Just trying to sort out some backup stuff out and have a problem with multi tape backup.

Basically we have Veritas 9 for Windows with hotfixes etc. and this is attached to a PowerStore DLT8000 multi tape with loader arm.

Now our backups are that big we need to span multi tape but im not sure how to set it up. I've looked around but cant see much, even in the Wizards.

How do I go about the following for example.

Use the tape in the drive (will only work if you load the tape in first, cant get auto loading)
After that, use tape in drive 2

Any ideas, urls etc much appreciated.

I am sure there is no Autoloader license anymore.

Within BE can you see the robotics listed in devices? If you can, try and inventory the autoloader.

What I actually have is a "Quantum 2" and "Slots" Right clicking the quantum gives a few options but no inventory one.

Leave the drive empty with no tape in.

Right Click on the slots for the inventory option, you can inventory each slot separately as well. The server has to know there are tapes in the slot(s) it can use.

Sounds like a problem with the autoloader drivers. When you installed BE, did you opt to use BE drivers for the drive and robotics?

Quickly check to see you autoloader is in the supported list.
