Hello everyone...i have got Mynetwork up to speed..she is perfect...then along came a wannabe and F*C*ed it all up!!...well got it all back to normal with the exception to VERITAS backup...iam successfully backing up all volumes yet I get the alert message after a backup is complete of "Unable to catalogue tapes..please free up some more space on volume"

we are using SONY AIT Tape drive and the AIT TApes with 64k on board memory.

i am flummoxed..I know that the tapes are all fine as i have been using them for a while..the firm ware on the drive has been updated as well as service packs on the server.

does the above message point to the space on the server or the tape?..my guess is the tape but....

Its talking about server disk space.

The catalogue's hold the details of what are on the tape. E.g when you do a restore you can navigate to the file you want and tick the box. This is where the catalogue comes in, otherwise you don't know whats on the tape.
