have 2 crossover cables (to rule out a faulty one, easy fault finding done by me) and have tried connecting using loads of guides originally with win me on my system but grudgingly upgraded to xp. tried 3 network cards and still nufink. Hence the possibility of the xbox itself having a problem. Has anyone tried a music mixer successfully and if so which guide did they follow? Thanks.

The way I did mine (which admittedly was quite some time ago) was to create a book disk with EvolutionX on a CD-RW.
Edit evox.ini with your network settings and make sure the settings match your PC.
Create an XISO of the EvolutionX files including your edited evox.ini file and burn the ISO. Boot the CD-RW and FTP away
Check the activity light on the rear of the X-Box network port as well as the light on the PC Lan card to see if they are linking.
