xbox network probs :(
Can't for the life of me get this to work even with music mixer, is there any way to tell if the network card in my xbox is working?
|
how is it set up :)
|
Have a look here
and dont forget, if your connecting your Xbox directly to your PC , make sure the cable you use is a crossover Phil |
have 2 crossover cables (to rule out a faulty one, easy fault finding done by me:)) and have tried connecting using loads of guides originally with win me on my system but grudgingly upgraded to xp. tried 3 network cards and still nufink. Hence the possibility of the xbox itself having a problem. Has anyone tried a music mixer successfully and if so which guide did they follow? Thanks.

Have you got Internet Connection sharing setup on the PC correctly..!!
|
i was pretty sure yea. the query i had was when i went to the xbox link above it says when you press y button oin music mixer at a certain point it gives your ip address but all i ever get is 0.0.0.0
|
Try setting up the PC and Xbox with Static IP's...
|
tried that with a slayers disk i had but due to the various bits of software going about i couldn't guarantee everything was working right! Is there any way to set up a static ip with music mixer?
|
Never used music mixer so cannot comment... However I would assume it uses the IP address allocated to the Xbox....
|
yea thats what i thought to but it still only shows it as 0.0.0.0

Slayers . . ? So its chipped then ? A little more info may help.
So are you running the standard MSdash or EvolutionX ? Or something else ? |
sorry, yea it has matrix chip flashed with d6 bios(if i can remember right) and i have original ms dash still, but wanted to put evox etc on but i want to make a backup of my hardrive through ftp first before knackering anything.

The way I did mine (which admittedly was quite some time ago) was to create a book disk with EvolutionX on a CD-RW.
Edit evox.ini with your network settings and make sure the settings match your PC. Create an XISO of the EvolutionX files including your edited evox.ini file and burn the ISO. Boot the CD-RW and FTP away :) Check the activity light on the rear of the X-Box network port as well as the light on the PC Lan card to see if they are linking. |
