Try www.giointernet.co.uk
they have all manner of packages - 150k, 256, 500, 1000 and 2000 packages - 500 speed is £19.99 a month - and you can buy an ADSL modem for £15 off ebuyer.com

Would highly suggest you give tiscali a long shot, was signed up to there b/b service for all off a week !! there customer service was enough for me to terminate the contract even after this short space off time !! and from reading on here I am not alone. " BE WARNED "
am going to sign up with pipex tonight thru there website, £23 a month and only £18 for there modem / connection package, certainly suits me !! lets hope so anyway !! seems to be a bit off a minefield out there !!
did consider nidram but was quoted a total off £111.00 before I could even get the thing off the ground !! pity as have been recommended them a few times, but again please do your homework regards " tiscali "

Remember you get what you pay for. Cheap does not mean it's any good.
If the Eclipse and Pipex's of the world are charging £23, then anyone going in for less must be cutting corners somewhere (well, IMHO at least!)

I would agree with Chris - you get what you pay for. Don't forget that these companies are perfectly able to increase the contention ratios beyond the standard 50:1 for the basic 512K home DSL service. This is the normal way to cut prices. I would be far happier paying a few extra quid and go for one of the more respected ISP's such as Nildram or Pipex. If you want the cheaper service, check the small print carefully.

pay the extra cash for a better service. pipex work out pretty cheap as the activation is free if you gonna stay for 1 year. always consider the activation fees.
