Anybody know where to get this free update?

Will it come down on automatic update?

It *should* come down on Auto Update - it was sitting waiting for me this morning having come down on my SUS Server, so expect it to. Just in case, I'd run it manually NOW & not wait until a scheduled run (if thats how your setup is working).

Should be pointed out that it isn't just WinXP that's affected by this issue, Win2003 (obviously), Win2k and NT are potentially at risk.

The guy who made the MyDoom virus must be doing his nut, he was trying to bring windows update to a standstill apparently. seems microsoft have done this themselves, on broadnand I am getting a download speen of 1.2kb fro there site.

Lol, just download it from the TechNet link I gave above. No problems with that. The XP fix is only just over 300K anyway...

farmer1 has hit the nail on the head. I thought exactly the same this morning when I couldn't get onto Microsoft's site at all. Microsoft have probably managed to launch the most successful distributed denial of service attack in the history of the Internet on themselves
