Talking

Just upgraded my EvolutionX with the Evox update from Here

The upgraded my Bios to EvoxM7_ef

The only problem now is that I can't run any of the games off my Hard Drive (the HD Loader isn't there - just the "Launch Menu" with "Games" and "Apps", nor any of the applications that I previously installed from the Slayer disk.....

Help!

Dan

Sounds like your evox.ini has disappeared - just replace it from your pre-flash backup.

Not sure why a BIOS update would overwrie that though.

ok - that worked... of a fashion!

I've now got the menus back, but no Flash Bios option

And the controller will control the dashboard, but not the game

Almost tempted to backup my save games and start from scratch....

Any ideas?

You can add this into your Evox.ini manually.

I personally have this added into the System Management part of my evox.ini:-

Item "Flash BIOS",ID_Flash_Bios
This then looks for the bios files from c:\bios\

Brilliant! Just done that Ian and it works like a treat!!

I got round it by just re-copying my backup up .ini & .xbe file

Everything works fine now, and I've still got the latest Bios (but probably not the latest EvolutionX.....)

That's a problem for a different day!!

Sorry - two more questions

1. Where are my save games held?

I've got 4 games (not labelled - as installed by HDD loader)

So when I do decide to flush it and re-organise the folders etc, just need to know where they are

2. How do I tell the media player where my mp3s/piccies etc are on my PC? what's the command line?

Cheers

You need to edit the xmbp.xml file IIRC I cant check at the moment as I am not in the same room as the X-Box at the momemnt and I am too lazy to move to power it up

<name>whatever you want ot call it</name>
<url>smb:\\pc name\shared folder</url>
<cachesize>256</cachesize>
