Not all burning progs support the overburn function, you'll have to pick and choose the best software. Alcohol 120% is my favourite.

BTW, Overburning is dangerous and can lead to you melting your drive.

Set Nero to overburn to 99 minutes and 30 seconds regardless of the disc size. Nero will recognize the disc as an 80 min CD-R, so you just tell it to overburn.

You should be able to overburn the VCD no problem, depending the media and the drives overburn capability of course.

I made that last bit up

Aaaah . . . er . . no. You made the ixa in ULead MovieFactory ?

If so, use ISO Buster to extract the AVSEQ01.dat file and burn that in VCD mode with Nero

Hmmm, can you output from your ULead software in any other format ? ISO ? Otherwise, try extracting everything from the IXA rather than just the .dat file and putting that into Nero.

yeah tried that well mostly..erm..i guess ive answer my own question really...

There are 3 data sections i think
mpegav - AVx.dat vid files
segment - ITEMx.dat
vcd - entries,vcd.vcd

i can add the first 2 but not the vcd section, im guessing they should be there but i cant overwrite the new ones its created.

Thumbs up

Just had a quick search and this may be a better solution . . .

What ya need to do is get isobuster (any ver.) locate your .ixa file with it and then use the extract image mode to create a .bin file. Once you have thet file you need to create a .cue file which is the information file, ya can do it by writing it in notepad like this: FILE "image-name.BIN" BINARY TRACK 1 MODE2/2352 INDEX 1 00:00:00
"image-name.BIN" being the name of the image file (IWDII.BIN, CIV3.BIN and so on...) and after youve got that ya gotta change the .txt extension into .cue after this all you do is just burn it with CDRWIN or NERO

Looks like you could be onto a winner

idunno its all w@nk. how cr@p is that having fixed disc limits, so whats the point in having the disc info button which analyses the disc, why doesnt the dumb program realise it hasnt reached the end of the disc and analyse it to the friggin end

An ISO file is just an image of the files, so it could be VCD or any other format within. You *should* just have to burn it.

The joys of overburning Its a very hit & miss operation and one which is not reliable, coasters are all part & parcel I'm afraid.

yeah the iso is just a vcd image. when viewing it, its still in its vcd directory format so i was assuming it was going to be striaght forward to get nero in vcd mode & copy the iso across but it dont seem to be...

Question

So its burning okay ?
You are prompted to overburn by Nero ?
The burn completes succesfully ?
Does it play on the PC ?
Does it play on your DVD player ?

someone somewhere must have had the same problem

ok, due to file being too big, ulead was unable to burn to disc.
i was able to save a disc image to the hd, .ixa

using isobuster, it opens the .ixa file & views them as a vcd format, mpegav,segment,vcd,blah-blah-blah.

i have converted it to .iso & .bin/.cue

opened nero in vcd mode & as 'burn image' mode

drag'n'dropped in different attempts the .iso, .cue & .nrg image to burn

the end result is i now have a full dinner-set
is there anyway of playing theses different images to make sure it runs ok?

ps. overburning not a prob. doesnt play on either

Yes, use Nero ImageDrive to mount the image as a virtual drive and try to play it back.
