norton anti-virus

why is my norton anti-virus trying to access the net every time i start my pc, it never used to ,only started doing it today, zone alarm dont stop it, auto live update is turned off, driving me nuts

This could be because you have automatic updates ticked. So the software is looking out towards Norton'swebsite to get the updates.
Open up NAV and check what you have ticked as preferences and see what you have.

So far i must have downloaded around 40MB of Norton "updates" in the last two and a half months. This can't all be new virus signatures, so it seems like Symantec are replacing huge amounts of buggy code at our (connection time) expense [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
