In 3/4 years time it probably won't make much difference as the next generation of consoles will be well established. It will, however, be slightly more desirable due to its improved laser and quieter fan. That and the fact that none of the black ones will work any more

If the black one has a yellow flash in the corner of the box with a + symbol in it thats the latest SCPH-50003 model too with quiet fan etc. Same internal workings as the silver one.

I got mine (black one) including F1 2003 and another game for £106 in Jersey, they sold out of silver ones in a couple of days.

Believe silver one comes with 2 controllers, the black one only comes with one.

Don't count on it, I have 6 Sinclair Spectrums at home over 20 years old and they all work perfectly, even the Microdrives and cartridges still work

yeah but this is the ps2 were talking about i know a few ppl whose lasers have already died and had to be replaced

Well I have the very first playstation from way back when, also bought a PSone for the car, now a PS2 ............ never had cause to complain - we are talking SONY here - not Bush/Amstrad/Matsui!!
