My chipped Xbox is on it's way (too lazy to do it myself so I bought one)

Now I need to know what PC apps everyone is running in order to talk to your Xbox
I want to play streaming MP3/Movies/pictures on the box without putting them on the HDD ( Think I need Relax for this)
Also do I need any sort of FTPing app

I've had a look around the various sites lie xbox-scene but it's a bit of a mine field for a nOOb
My box will have :Evolution-X
Xbox Media Player v2.4
DVDX v2.0
DVD2Xbox v04_8
Boxplorer v0.96
HDDLoader v1.0a
Xtoolbox v0.41

anything else I need for either box or PC ??

Cheers

Sounds like you've got it all sorted mate

You'll need an FTP client such as FlashFXP to transfer files from your PC. It just connects to the IP of the X-Box with username & password xbox/xbox (you can change this in the EvoX settings).

I also use XBOX ISO Transfer (XIT). Great for extracting ISO's and transferring on the fly to your X-Box. Great speeds too

I use Craxtion to make my multi-game discs too.
Just knocked up my first skin for Menu-X too (ready for when it comes out and I can backup my copy to one disc ):

DJ:

Why is a DVD-Writer essential? I thought you could copy and run everything you want fromt he hard drive?

Thanks,

Steve.

i was well suprised when i opened up my mates x-box last summer to chip it, it was basically a shuttle. it had onboard gfx, cpu and heatsink and had a seagate hdd connected by ide cables. no wonder it was soo easy to get linux installed on it

nope but it is bloody fussy about what disc it will and won't read, so once you've found a + or - it likes stick with it

I'm using orange topped Ritek Bulkpaq -R's no problem (from SVP). Also use some Memorex slim DVD case jobbies that work great. Thats with the Thompson X-Box drive. Depends a bit on which drive you have inside yours.
