Question

I know how to do the basic shortcut command which brings up a dos prompt.

Is there anyway, when using windows explorer, right click on a directory and launch a shortcut command WITH the directory location (in the dos prompt) at the location where you launched it from?

Thanks for any help in advance

Edited to say that I'm using W2K pro.

Mirosoft do a PowerToy to do just this, but it only does what the article shows how to do.

There is a Microsoft utility called cmd here. I think it comes on the Windows 2000 professional resource Kit or on the 2000 Server rousource kit I can't remember. Its a bloody handy program and does exactly what you want.

Backrogers,

PowerToys has been around since the year dot, well, Win95 anyway.

Yes you'll have to have a search about for the W2K PowerToys but I bet you'll find the WinXP version of "Command here" will work anyway.

Cheers

Once you have downloaded the file, right click and Install and magic. One fully working right click command prompting thing

Darren

To be honest I did not try it. As my second post shows I found something that worked and does exactly what I wanted.

Thanks for the help anyway.
