disc clean-up

when i attempt this, the small box appears as normal, but when it get three wee green boxes in the completed bar, it doesn't go any further. have left it for about half an hour and hasn't changed at all. task manager says it's running ok, but i'm not very technically minded to work out what the problem is. what should i do?

If your running Anti-virus software this might be stopping it

Disable the AV

am trying the av off just now, but after about ten minutes it hasn't changed yet. any other idea's please?

Go to your AV website and try searching
Some AV progs need a dos command to stop running properly

I had exactly the same problem - it was driving me nuts cos i like to keep a clean machine.

On the end I did a complete reinstall of Windows XP.........

But I have now found this:-
