Unhappy

We have a load of really old macs lying around here, LCs, 7100, 7200, 7500, 7600 that sort of stuff in various states.

Anyone in the Dorset area know of anyone that might have a use for them?

Hi,

I don't really know about old Macs...

Would any of these be good for running Microsoft Office on?

It doesn't have to be a new version of Office (but 97 or later would be preffered).

If so, please let me know - I know a student who has just started at Southampton University and they are looking for a computer.

Many thanks in advance.

Ideally we'd like to get rid of them all all at once. If we are going to start selling them individually we'd have to test them etc... I know some don't work, some don't have disks and some don't have memory.
We don't plan to spend any time on them otherwise we'd have to charge for them.

Also they all have keyboards but only 14 inch screens which are not much use...

Rich,

Have mailed this thread to a Southampton based Mac support guy / scoobynetter.

Rich I'm down at the weekend and wondered if you have one of the old 14" RBG screens to work with an LCII. Its for the Mac museum!

Do be careful if you give the kit away to make sure you get them to sign a disclaimer or you can be held liable for any injury if the kit goes wrong. Crazy eh ?

Cheers guys,

Er how many 14" monitors do you want? We have about 20...

Allan, Any other models needed for the museum? we also have an si, LC111, LC475, 6100/60, 7100/66, 7100/80, 7200/90, Performa 6300s, IIvx (god knows where they came from), Quadra 650s (rock solid ) couple of old printers.

Thought about trying to collect one of each, then I thought, don't be so sad!

Hey you're right those Quadras were well cool. One of the few machines that made me doubt buying a PC!

I don't suppose you have a PCI graphics card that I could buy off you/make a donation to charity for?

Anything that would work in a 9600 would be most appreciated
