Hi,
Want to build a site for the other 'arfs business (works from home as Bowen Therapist and Reflexologist) and the opinions I've heard so far say that the best site builder is Dreamweaver. A couple of questions:
a) any further opinions on this, agreeing or disagreeing ...
b) where is the cheapest place to get it? See it at Dabs for about £395 and Amazon for £360 ish ...
Ta for any advice.
Dave

I like Dreamweaver!
If you want to give it a go, Macromedia used to (not sure if they still do) have a 30 day trial avaliable on their webpage which you can register for and download.

I've done a few sites and have never used web design software (including sites for two F3000 racing teams (a couple of years back)). I hand code all the HTML using Notepad. You will have to learn some HTML, but the best way to learn is to look how other people have coded their pages.
Hope this helps.

I think Dreamweaver's about to get another facelift (MX 2004 or something) so be careful not to buy the outgoing model.
BTW I still use Dreamweaver 4 for website design but am contemplating going for the upcoming upgrade.

Avoid Dreamweaver MX if you can...
Get Dreamweaver 4 if you want an old version, or Dreamweaver MX 2004 (the newest version).
Dreamweaver MX always seems to crash out a lot when working - can really get on your nerves. Haven't had this problem with MX 2004 as yet (but haven't used it extensively enough to be 100% sure of this).
I wouldn't deviate from Dreamweaver though - don't go designing in FrontPage or anything!

Main reason I want to go to MX/MX 2004 is so I can implement my designs using web standards, i.e. XHTML and CSS. The work I currently do in Dreamweaver 4 is full of browser-dependent hacks, and the CSS editor is limited.
