Email Links
#2
I have had this problem for a while now, when you get emails or sights that leave a email link.
Well every time i click on these i dont get Outlook express up as i should i just get loads and loads of white pages instead.
I get ready in the top right hand corner just ready to click on the X loads of times till there all gone.
Why is this happening and how do i stop it.
Thanks Chel xxx

In Internet Explorer Look under Tools/Internet Options, then go to the Programs tab. Under the email heading, ensure Outlook Express is selected.

Open Outlook Express, go to Tools > Options and there should be a button to make Outlook Express the default mail handler.
If it says Outlook Express is the default already, then you have something corruptedin theregistry. A search on the Microsoft Knowledge Base sort find the solution.

Me again
I just did what you said and it changed back.
In option under General tab, it says..
"Default messaging program
This application is not the default mail handler".
Then at the side you can tick in box to make your default and i did this and clicked ok.
When i tried one of them email addresses again, it did that loads of white windows again so i went to the option to see what was there and guess what. it had changed back.
What now?

You don't say what version of Windows you're running (or if you did, I missed it) You could try uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook Express. Before doingthat though, make sure you take a backup of your mailboxes, just in case. On XP you'll find them in a folder at:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\[long-string-of-numbers]\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Copy all of the files within the Outlook Express folder to a safe place.
You'll need the original media unless the CAB files are installed on your PC.
Then go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and click on the Windows Components icon on the left. Outlook Express will be listed (shows size a 0.0 - don't be concerned). Remove the tick, then OK/Apply. Wait until it has dont the business, then back to the same place and re-tick Outlook Express. OK/Apply again and it will reinstall.
Really have no idea if this will fix your problem, but worth a shot.
