self teach PC course
#1
Thinking about getting the father in law a cd rom based computer course for christmas. Had a look in a book shop yesterday and couldn't see anything appropriate. Just want an intro to PC hardware and then how to use W2K/XP.
Any ideas?

ola,
i do say this with the greatest of respects, but i found the dummies series of books great. not because people are stupid.
it's just a lot of the time, these books explain things different to how us IT dudes do, and people just seem to understand them better,
i was having a few problems a while ago with C++ programming, i just could take in, polymorpthism, inheretance and class, then i was looking through a mates C++ for dummies books " after taking the p(*s mind", and thought to myself " bloody hell thats a great way of making people understand that".
so there you go, and i don't even work for the company, hope it helps
Regards
Roland
