D-Link Router Help !
#1
Hi,
I have a D-Link Di-304 isdn router.
My ISDN line is not connected yet, but I am just setting up the router now.
The router is connected to the PC OK, and I can ping it etc.
I have configured DHCP and the isdn access numbers.
Its a stupid question I know, but how do you catually dial up your ISP when the router is installed? i.e. how do you set up a Network/Dial Up connection to acually dial the number?
Thx

Router should take care of that for you!
To put in access numbers etc, open your web browser on the IP address of the router, you should have to put in your access numbers/passwords somewhere in there!
To set up your PC to use the router to connect to the web, set up the gateway to be that of the routers IP address

Access the network properties of the nic that is connected to your router, under Internet protocl (TCP/IP) settings you'll find an entry for your default Gateway, set the IP Address of the router in here.
You'll probably find you'll have to give yourself a static IP Address as well, if you haven't already done so

Surely if you are using DHCP, the default gateway will be assigned automatically.
If you have set DHCP and the access numbers up correctly and your PC is configured to use DHCP, the router will become the default gateway for your IP traffic and when there is traffic that isn't bound for your local network, the router will dial automatically.

if you use the dafault gateway ip,
plug the unit into your network, then via your PC add the gateway to your tcpip settings, reboot
then open an ie6 window
type in the ip gateway of the router eg 192.168.1.10
you should then get into a menu structure allowing you to setup all you need
hope this helps
